Reichenau was already a valued place of recreation in the days of the emperor. It was the place for summer refreshment and had become the noble spa of the monarchy. There are many beautiful walking paths remaining from that time through Reichenau, leading to a multitude of architecturally impressive villas and country houses, as well as to the Rothschild Castle or the Reichenau Castle.
The first Viennese high-spring water pipeline also dates from that time. Every day, fresh water flows from Kaiserbrunn to countless households in Vienna. A visit to the water pipe museum in Kaiserbrunn can provide some interesting background information.

Hiking and mountain climbing
The high alpine plateau of the Alpine foothills, the 2007m high Raxalpe, offers numerous secured fixed rope routes from easy to difficult. Furthermore, the surrounding mountains like the Kreuzberg and the 20-Schilling View invite you to explore.

Waterway Route of the first Viennese high-spring water pipeline.
On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of our first Viennese high-spring water supply pipeline, a hiking trail was established along the most beautiful sections of the route.
The path was newly built in the area of Hirschwang to Kaiserbrunn and presents an attractive part of the Hölltental from a new perspective.
Particularly suitable for Viennese school classes to find out which way the drinking water travels to reach households in Vienna!
Biking
Schwarzatal bike path, 43 km of easy cycling. From the foot of the Raxalpe in Hirschwang, through Reichenau, along the historic Ghega- Semmeringbahn to Gloggnitz, along the Schwarza river to the district shopping town of Neunkirchen. From there on to Erlach through the beautiful Schwarzatal.

Museum Train
On a wildly romantic route between Payerbach-Reichenau- Hirschwang, over small viaducts, past Artzberg and the traditional Thalhof, the oldest electric locomotive in the world runs the E1 (built in 1903).

Grillenberg Exhibition Mine
The former iron stone mine on the Grillenberg, which had already been established in the Bronze Age, was reopened in 1991- 1992 and set up as an exhibition mine.
The exhibition mine is open from May to October.

The club offers our guests the following special conditions:

a reduction of 20 % on the daily green fee (the prices can be seen on our homepage)
- organization of guest tournaments from Monday to Friday at special rates (from 3 persons) by prior arrangement (for "golf junkies": a handicap tournament is held every Wednesday afternoon – please just ask).
- Proficiency courses (10 hours of 50 minutes each - spread over 3 days with a final exam) as well as trial courses (1 to 2 hours, as desired) - price depending on the number of participants and agreement. Prior registration in good time is absolutely necessary.

Semmeringbahn hiking route
The starting point of the 21 km long, easily-accessible route is at the Semmering railway station. From there you walk downhill along the tracks.
Past monumental viaducts and through the highly impressive landscape with a magnificent view of the Semmering – Rax - Schneeberg area.
You can also enjoy a wonderful view by taking a detour to the "20-Schilling View", named after its use on the flipside of the old 20 Schilling note.
